My experience with Meyer Hatchery -- long post

I agree, I like to hear good reviews of the hatcheries when folks are happy with them.

I figure for every review I find online saying something positive about a company, 10 happy folks didn't bother to report.

However, when people are upset, they are far more likely to vent their frustrations on the internet about bad experiences. So thank you for posting.

I was thinking this would be a negative post, but you did a wonderful job telling us what happened!! Hat's Off to Meyer's and Dawn for their customer service and I'm glad you were able to in the end get everything you ordered and more!!!

If you haven't already, a written note to her management complimenting her on the job well done would also be a nice gesture. I work retail and it's one thing (nice, of course) to hear a compliment on your own performance, but much nicer to know that your boss knows that your customer is happy.

I did e-mail Dawn a big THANK YOU, but I agree, I should send a letter to the management as well. Maybe I'll include a link to this thread so they can see how many people have heard a good word about their company....

If I were ordering chicks, this is who I was going to use. The fact that they even have a small order program was a big thing for me.

My order from Meyer is due next Tuesday 21st. i'll make sure to post my results good or bad, hopefully nothign but good. So far I've made several changes, always increases, and their customer service has been great.

I picked up an order of 30 cornish X and 20 assorted egg layers my son picked out we got there they were very friendly and showed my son the chick development stages in the egg. Even though they were very busy they took the time to answer our questions. I will shop from Meyers from now on.

Iceh - way to go with the chicks! I'm glad everything ended up working out!

I got my first order of chicks from Meyer a week ago...they are all healthy and happy so far! I did a small order of 12 females of different breeds (and like you I was worried about that cold snap that happened RIGHT during the shipping time.... but they made it!) I am very happy with Meyer and their service! I can't wait for these girls to grow up!

I ordered chickies for the first time this spring (as you can tell by my post numbers, I'm a noob at this). I ordered from Meyer, and they were great on the phone, great customer service, and even very helpful when I called back with general chick questions. I would definitely order from them again.

I have 24 little girls (7 BO, 12 SS, and 5 EE) that JUST went out into their final coop from my bathtub yesterday. I'm suffering "empty nest" syndrome and was about to order some more from them. Unfortunately, the breed I wanted (RIR) was listed as "Not Available". I'm sure they are SOLD OUT - it seems like EVERYONE is getting chickens right now who possibly can.

So I found a local hatchery that has that same breed and I'm going to pick some up today...
