Christina, I think I have 3-4 roos, and 5-6 pullets... there's one that I'm not sure about. I took into account combs, wattles, size of legs, and stance.
OK... cuteness overload here... I'm still waiting on one egg to pip, and one to hatch, but 13 chicks are fluffed after hatching for the last 3 days. 3 hatched under my broody (and hatched first) and the remaining 12 eggs were in my incubator (her scrawny butt won't cover more that 5 eggs/chicks!
These are all chicks from ParkerVA's (JDs) eggs.
Most are EExAmeraucanas, and most are blonde, which he says will likely be wheaten or blue wheaten (I think that's what he said!!)
Elvis with her 5... at least one was a silkie!! The yellow chick with lots of spots on its head and back is from a cuckoo Marans/EE hen x Ameraucana roo. Can't wait to see what that one looks like when grown!
Silkie... Birchen hen x white roo... is it a birchen or a blue?
What a grump!
In the brooder... most are blonde...
And some 9-10 day old chicks... light brahma and mille fleur d'Uccles...
I just sold the 5 millie babies... poor baby Huey (my nickname for the brahma, compared to the millies) was devastated. Thank goodness I had new babies to put in there with Huey... She's happy again with friends.
Thank you guys... I tell you what, JD has some very photogenic babies...
