My extended "family" *picture heavy*

Thanks Aly!

I have a customer that wants Gambels, but he wants me to incubate them for him. I won't be raising them, though... I don't have any more room.

Well, I would have to get a permit for bobwhites or gambel, and I don't feel like messing with a permit right now

I would rather get chickens

I can totally understand.

Here's a photo of Tyson, when he and the silkies were just babies.

It's one of my favorites.

A few more photos of the girls in the layer flock. Other than a BUNCH of light brahmas and black australorp pullets, we have barred rocks, SLWs

one GLW roo that I'm trying to figure out how to ship to Nome for Snowydiamonds, a White Rock, a White Wyandotte, RIRs, (Big Red)

a Silver Sebright (Penelope No-Toes), and a Silver Spangled Hamburg... plus, I think I've figured out (with Cyn's help) that Sunrise is a Welsummer?

(Please pardon the mud... the girls are unable to get away from the mud...

This is what it has looked like all Summer...

It JUST stopped raining again... I need to cover the run completely if it's going to keep raining like this next year...

Plus we now have a beautiful Blue Laced Red Wyandotte - Lacey:

Coming out of a molt.

Two Ameraucanas (molting and muddy) - any suggestions on the technical term for the coloring?

... one girl that looks like a buff orpington, but has dark tail feathers. She was an "unknown layer" and could be a mutt.
IMG_3467.jpg

...and one old girl that I think might be a Dark Cornish? I have a lot of one-of-a-kind chickens, and some I'm just not sure yet.
IMG_3455.jpg

Any help on breeds/color IDs would be appreciated. These girls are all in a separate coop/run, and other than the pure enjoyment of their company, they lay enough eggs to pay for most of the feed.

Tori, your flock is beautiful. Those baby Orps are so adorable

That picture of Tyson is really adorable too.

Wow, great shots of your birds. Beautiful birds. How do you keep track of them all? I love the shots outside with those gorgeous trees in the background.
smile.png

Thanks guys! I actually have an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all the birds, but I will admit that I will not be naming them all. The breeders, yes. The one-of-a-kind birds, yes. But ALLLLL the others... heck, I can't tell them apart!
lol.png

Christina, your grandbabies are SO sweet! I just can't wait for them to grow up and start making their own babies!!

Cynthia and I will be hatching a bunch in the Spring! woo hoo!

Well, it rained ALL night again... I'm afraid to go outside without my hipwaders... :| What a wet poopy summer we've had. I am actually looking forward to the freeze up just so that mud won't be tracked around anymore. Did you see their ankles in the photos? Every time I go in there I chip a little of the dried caked mud off of their feet... not sure that mud-baths work on chickens like they do for humans.

6 week old BBS orpingtons...

Beautiful birds and great pictures of them! That Dorking is one handsome guy.

That last picture you posted is just too cute!

What is the benefit of the stuffed animal in with the hatchlings?
