I used to have doves as a teenager, but was forced to give them away when I went to college.

At 45, I decided I was old enough to have them if I wanted them.

I was given this female dove in early September -- she was surrendered at a pet adoption day, and the clerk at Petsmart called me because she knew I liked doves.

I bought her a mate a few weeks later.

And, viola:

Oh how beautiful! I have never seen a baby dove!

I was reading awhile back about Noah the Dove who sits atop baby bunnies at a rabbit rescue facility. You can google it if you want. Here is the thread I made on it:

But anyway, I discovered that doves are really excellent parents. Thank you for sharing it! Pretty mother dove too!

How cute!

And yes, doves do make good parents. Mine fuss at me until I leave them and their babies/eggs alone :p
Noah the Dove (Pigeon) makes a great story. I've had to emailed to me several times over the past couple years. Can't get over how adorable Noah and the bunnies are!

That takes me back a few years. I used to breed doves when I had the space. Now I have one lonely male and am searching for a female for him.

I love your little one!!!

Everyone thinks they are ugly at first, but once you raise enough of them, they grow on you :p Soon they are "so ugly they're cute" and then after that you just forget they're ugly at all
