I was SOOOO excited to find my first egg yesterday from my 21 week old Australorp!!
Only problem was when I went to crack it open this morning for breakfast, and found that it was completely solid on the inside, as if it had been hard-boiled!!

The shell is hard and intact, it cannot be frozen (70s here in so-cal), normal shape & size, and my husband promises me that he did not play a practical joke on me!

HELP

I don't belive hubby.. that egg looks cooked to me. If hubby is an honest fellow, and nobody on here can make heads or tails of it, Id start calling my extension agent and ag college...thats got to be something they would want to study.

Sound waves, infrared, and high frequency vibration can do that to an egg. But I am assuming you don't have your chickens sitting on a woofer playing bass while they lay eggs..... So I have no idea other than a practical joke?

And I reeeeeally don't think my husband would do this!!! He's not a practical joke kind of guy.

Could it have just been sitting in her for a week or so??
