Did you tell hubby's friend's wife to NOT tell hubby's friend that you know? If he and hubby know you know, then it's gonna be hard to do a prank back. He's gonna be on the lookout for it. Maybe non-egg related, and wait a month or so.

I agree, tho. If he doesn't know you know, tell them all you've decided to just enjoy the eggs, and then have hubby see you eat them. Free eggs until your girls start laying.

BTW: my black australorps didn't start laying until they were 7 months old.

Personally, I hate practical jokes. I always fall for them, and end up feeling really bad about my intelligence. It makes my low self-esteem even lower. Sit down and figure out how you feel about it and what you want to do about it, if anything. Maybe you're the type of person who can just laugh at this and move on. If so, more power to you.

There are lots of things you could do, but since you have talked to him and he knows you know, I think it might pay to remember the old saying "revenge is a dish best served cold". Let it blow over, have a laugh over it and let him think you have forgotten it and forgiven him while you use the time to cook up a really rotten plan for later.

Henderson, for your own piece of mind, go visit the "City Slickers" thread (I forget the exact title). You won't believe some of the things people "think" they know about chickens. I won't admit here all the things I thought I knew when I was first starting out, only to find out I was wrong. I still learn new stuff all the time, and now know I will never know it all. Reading that thread makes me feel much smarter!

I live in Texas where temps reached triple digits for days. Out of all the eggs gathered daily, I have found 5 hard boiled eggs this week! No one has ever heard of this and no one is boiling them... Someone tell me this can happen... This is for real... Btw....they are not rotten and I made them into egg salad!
