MY FIRST EGG!!!

:love:woot
Congratulations on the egg. Always a good day.

Are you sure about "big bird" she looks strikingly similar to one of my EE cockerels.

He wasn't too happy about cooperating for the pictures since I woke him up:barnie
Ha ha! Not exactly sure, s/he is a golden laced Wyandotte and i recently posted on here asking about gender and the consensus was that it was a she due to coloring and that s/he looked point of lay. She definitely has redder wattles than my other GLW. Also the known, crowing, rooster has been “harassing” her.

i'd say it's a she. Since my RIRs started laying August 2nd it is so fun to see "how many eggs I will get today". We are up to 9 a day. I put them in 18 count egg cartons and compare size and colors. It's like, "well the same chicken must have laid these two eggs". I'm a dork!

Lol, that’s so going to be me! My husband watched a chicken documentary but refuses to tell me the title because he says I am already too nuts about my birds and he’s afraid of the ideas the show would give me!

My husband is as much into it as I am, well almost. He's all about the eating of the eggs, so he is interested to know who and how many is laying. He does the butt checks! :yesss:

I do the same thing! I have three hens, identical breed, same age, but they just started laying and there's a distinct difference in their egg's appearance.

Congrats!! My GLW laid her first egg today too! Scratch, my SLW, laid her first two days ago, then laid another one today. And so did NB (aka Nasty Butt, now No Biting!), a RIR. Got three more pullets who need to lay their firsts, then we are in bidness!
Yay!:wee
