My first incubation and hatching!

Second chick has hatched! Number 2 is a Brahma. I’ll post pictures in the morning.

Question: Is it okay to take the chicks out of the incubator before they’re fully dry? Stupid me decided it would be a good idea to put too much humidity in the incubator, and now I’m not sure how to get it out without opening it. I wouldn’t want them to drown.

Update: Ended up moving them. Theyre doing well, still huddled under the heater though. Think it’s too cold in the room they’re in. I’ve found the Brahma chick on its back a couple times and unable to stand back up- is this something I should be concerned about? Or is it normal?

Just watch it and see if it makes progress, it should. :)

They're adorable!
Also, I suggest you put paper towels on the pine chips.
Have any others hatched yet?
Paper towels? How come, if you don’t mind me asking

unfortunately only the two of them hatched, but I plan on buying some more chicks to add to the brooder soon.

Paper towels are good to protect the youngest chicks from pasty butt. I lost two silkie chicks to it once, but now that I've started putting paper towels over the bedding for the first few days, pasty butt is rare in my flock.

I'm sorry only two hatched. When you get more, pictures of all the chicks would be great!

Thanks for the info!

Here are the chicks and their newest pals, the goslings!
