My first loss. RIP little buddy.

Well it is hard to lose my chicken friends. We have been battling storms and artic cold here in Buffalo, western NY area. I was worried about the cold. But didn't realize a predator. Don't know what it was yet. Was trying to get into my coop. "It" got my little brown leghorn cross. I am sad about that, but my little buddy rooster. "Arthur" gave his life to protect the rest of them. I am devestaded but at the same time very proud of him.

I am going to miss you little buddy.

I'm really sorry. I lost my first hatched little chick. I cried all morning. He was so lively the night before. It hurts.

Thanks everyone. I just feel so bad for them. I know it happens every once in a while. I just wish I could figure out what I could have done differently.
