My First time!!!!! ***HELP***

If you have a dehumidifier you can place that in the incubator room to help reduce the moisture. Other than that, I am not sure what else you could do reduce the humidity?

To be honest, as long as it stays at 74% and doesn't get higher, you should be ok. Just keep an eye on it for a little bit. As long as it doesn't get up to 80%, I wouldn't stress too much.

Thanks for the help tonight! I appreciate it. Right now the humidity has went down to 69% and temps have finally gotten stable! Hopefully it will stay this way now and I can hatch these little chickies!! I really hope so because the parents were SO beautiful! Again, Thanks you!

Today is going by smoothly! yay! But my biggest question now is what is the point of the water wiggler really? I get the idea and everything but It seems to be making my temps wrong...or well...confusing! When I have it in the temps seem low, like at 88.5 or so....but when I had it off the temp was at a steady 99.8 with humidity at 47%. Humidity seems to be up also when it is in there! So....do I just leave it out?

You don't really need that during incubation. The water wiggler is designed so that you can use a digital thermometer probe and ensure the temp inside the wiggler is the same as the outside temp. This helps ensure your eggs will maintain the temp they need during incubation.

But yeah, I would take it out unless you want to measure the temp while the eggs are going, but as long as you have the temp steady, I wouldn't worry about it.

I keep mine in from day one thru hatch since it helps me know about the temps inside the egg which are the most important temps when they're developing. I'd advise having it in there.

Thanks for the help. Left it in there and everything is looking GOOD!

Okay, some more questions from this first timer over here! I know you all are probably sick of me! lol. Anyways, I just couldn't help myself with trying this candling thing, so I tried. Its the ending of Day 3 starting of Day 4 now and It look like only 3 or 4 of my 26 Eggs are good?!?!?!? The air cell is supposed to be at the top right? Its that black blob looking thing? Well ALOT of mine are moveable and I never once handled my eggs rough! Some are so dark of an egg the light does not show much and almost every one of the eggs are porous, is that good or bad??? I guess I didn't get the beginners luck like some on here....but I know its still early, I"ll keep incubating and hope for the best. Just wanted other EGG-sperts to share some knowledge here with my concerns! Thanks, you guys are the best, I love this forum!

Day 3 or 4 is really too early to try and candle.....especially if you've never done it before. I never even try before day 7 and a lot of times I wait until day 10. There are some people, and I'm inclined to agree, that the less you handle them early in incubation the better off you are. Less chance of disturbing the embryo.

PS....don't throw anything out yet...it's too soon for that.

Well I figured since I am hand turning them it wouldn't hurt to try. The place I have the incubator at is kinda hot since i am in Texas so temps do not fluctuate bad, maybe by a degree or two while turning....so The porous thing is nothing either? Do all eggs look like that with tiny dots everywhere>?
