The waiting is a killer! This is my 2nd hatch but I'm doing it by the broody setting. She has 8 eggs, got off them on day 4 so I ran out and tried to candle them but not sure about them as it was early. It is now day 9 of setting and I want to candle SO bad but she won't get off and I'm thinking I better just be patient as its cold and stormy out there and she's sitting tight on them. How does one just wait for those 21 days?!! ... I go onto BYC and look at pictures of everyone elses chickens to keep me busy. Now I want to get some eggs & try that! I am also hatching my first chickens. I started with 5 eggs, lost one and have four left. They are 8 days old now and I cannot help but check the temp & humidity ALL the time. If this test goes well, then I will buy some eggs next time.
