my food grade DE is gray/brown in color-is that normal?

I just opened up a 40lb bag of food grade DE and it was a grayish/brown in color, is that normal and will it still work as bug control in the coop?

mine is brown too its red earth brand... its still totally fine IMO I have used it now for 3 years

Whew! Took me awhile to find it locally so glad it's ok. I think it's the red earth brand too. Thanks!

I have 6# jug of the Red Earth and it is reddish/gray...has calcium benzo....something in it...was told this is clay.

Both colors are available in Indiana:
The white variety is sold in Logootee, Indiana, and the gray variety is sold in Martinsville, Indiana.
