my gander is bleeding from his leg help please

Glad to hear they´re well on the mend.  Have things calmed down a bit there now?

Yes a bit but with the temps in the negatives these last few days and the foot of snow we just got they are busy staying warm. However the geese do bully the ducks when I go to do chores. The next warmer day I'm going to build there own little goose house.

Thanks. Yes she really has. She is one tough ducky that's for sure. Over breeding to the point of either a hip/back issue (her butt is to the side of her), a bad dog attack, a goose attack that would of been bad if it hadn't been stopped when it was, and now another goose attack. I'd say she's been through more than her fair share.
I hope Cheese won't be going back in with everyone till after breeding season. Poor girl.

I got rid of her attacks awhile ago and for the most part my other boys leave her alone. Once the geese have there own place then she can go back outside. I wanted to get some ducky diapers because she's been through enough and would be safe in the house but of course my bf has to be a party pooper and won't agree to that.

She's one though cookie isn't she. Bless her heart.

Yes she really is. It gives me hope though whenever any of the other ducks/geese have any problems. I just think well look what cheese has been through and than it isn't quite as bad. Today while doing my morning chores I discovered blood on one of my ducks so I was going to bring her in and check her out. But while finishing up my chores I heard my cat meowing. Turns out he got stuck in one of the eaves of the house. So I had to get him out of there. Not sure how he got stuck in them since they are blocked off with hardwire cloth. So I bring him in and go out to get the duck to find she's no longer bloody since she was bathing herself and that somehow I missed my goose Amelia was bloody. Turns out she has a cut on what I would consider her elbow. I'm not good with terminology lol. The part of her wing that folds, the very tip of that is bleeding and cut open. Its been in the negatives for a few days so idk if maybe she fell and bashed it off something or if one of the ganders did it. I have no clue. But she's inside right now too. Having a goose in the house is in my opinion very difficult. Could I just put something on it and send her back out doors? I'll get a picture of it so you can see the extent of the wound.

Lets see a pic, if it isn't bleeding and you have cleaned it good and put triple antibiotic or neo on it she should be fine unless it's very deep and could start up bleeding again.

400
its not very deep and I've applied triple antibiotic to it.

If you do put her back out or already have I'd check it daily do you have any betadine? if so you can make up a wash using warm water and betadine till it looks like weak tea and rinse this wound at least 1X a day. laying around and getting dirt/ poop in it it might be a good idea to clean it daily till scabbed over good. You don't think pred?

I haven't put her outside just yet. Probably before I bed I will, since she flies over the puppy pen she is in. I'd hate for her to do that at night and run around the house. I don't but I'll be in town tomorrow I'll make sure to pick some up. No way it was a pred they haven't been out of their coop or penned area in a week or so. And get locked in the coop around 4pm every day. The neighbor said they saw afox one morning hanging around and I am extra cautious now. My uncle could put a trap out to catch it but he'd have to use a leg one and I don't need that laying around and have my dog or god forbid my cat step in it. I already almost lost my cat once to a trap so if its not a live trap I can't do it.
