We in ireland have basic preds (foxes ,otters and on a very rare occasion a golden eagle which grabs chickens and 3 month old geese not older because some of my geese are good fighters against big preds,but we have no poisonous qnimals haha

I bet you don't have to use hairy legs to keep them away either or your ganders .

Predatory animals like foxes, coyotes, coy dogs, wolves (in the area but not close to me), mountain lions (like the wolves they are up in the mountains more), raccoons, even had a skunk kill one of my ducks before, weasels, mink, bears, umm pretty much anything like that we have. The bears, wolves, and mountain lions are thankfully not something I deal with but they are around here. I have 3 different packs of coyotes by me and hear them at night a lot. They scare me the most because there is so many and they are so close to me.

UPDATE*** so yesterday I noticed a black smudge like thing on Amelia's beak, I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was dirt or something. Well today it was still there and so I looked at it and her beak is broken open and she has dried blood under the surface on her bill in a few places. Anything I should be doing for it? I'm assuming she must of hit her beak on some ice or something. The water out there freezes all the time. Anyone have any experience with a cracked bill?

Yes I do. Hmm I'd say it is cracked. I'll try to get a pic of it before I go back to work tomorrow. It deff is broken open.

I haven't seen her eat but I know she went to her food bowl this morning when I was leaving the pen. I will start adding the ACV. That website was mostly about parrots with more extensive damage than poor Amelia's. I'm going to put some triple antibiotic on it for tonight.

I hope Amelia heals quick too. I will deff get a picture of it tomorrow. Its punctured so I'm a little worried about possible infection. Cheese is almost completely recovered and her feathers have grown back completely. I'm just waiting for them to grow out as long as the others and for me to build that goose house hopefully this week. As long as the weather does indeed stay warm like they claim its going to.
