My Geese are bullys!!

I believe that is the male, at least its name is Rio so I hope its the male..

If anyone remembers me, I am the one who was given several goose eggs to incubate for free when I purchased my turkey eggs, Rio was better known as Wrong Way :)

And yah, that is what my husband said, told me I sure didn't make that easy for her lol
So, actually, you could have any mix of males and females?
The best way with most goose breeds is to watch their behaviour. Males are usually more upright, more bolshy, noisier, etc.... Is it Rio that is more of a bully? One of the white ones seems to have a male stance, too. Doesn´t mean it is one...photos often make them look different anyway.
I do remember when you posted about Wrong Way. But I can´t remember what breeds you may have there.
So is hubby happy they´re still with you?

Depends on the breed.
Some breeds the males don´t have much of a lobe. Mine have none. Other breeds, the males also have one...or two, but the females´ are normally bigger. It´s not an egg tube, they just carry their weight here. Breeds kept on forage only often don´t have them.

hmmm... well the white ones have it and the darker one doesn't... Guess I will have to wait until spring to find out

Mine forage but are given flock raiser twice a day when I feed the others..

Yes, but are they all from the same pair of geese? If so, you probably have a trio. If they´re from various nests of mixed breeds, then not so easy to say. I guess they´re Embden x toulouse...?
Sounds like they´re getting really good care. Have fun!

She told me they would be either Embden or Buff or a mix , she said she had Geese but had gotten rid of them a few days before finding these eggs but didn't tell me how many she had and I didn't think to ask as these she just gave me for free and I seriously didn't think I could hatch them lol..... Considering even the white ones have spots of grey I would guess they are all a mix, and considering she said either or a mix of I would guess she had a few...Just not sure..
And thanks, This is all new and I feel like I have read as much as I could, but I am always willing to hear suggestions...Thanks!

I will get more tonight.. I know when they hatched it was guessed that I had a male and two females but that was in question because of the mix?

Ok, here is a picture... My phone is being stupid and this is the only one I could get to post so far but I hope its a good enough front shot of all three..
