My girlfriend dumped me because of my chickens..

I say you print out all the responses and send them to her.....let her see she may just be one of the selfish people in life LOL
You certainly would hear back from her!

Well, when you get a new girlfriend at least she will know about the chooks.

Your responsibility is to the animal that you choose to take out of it's natural environment. A new girlfriend will have to accept that animals come first because they don't have a choice in the way they are kept.

And yes, even Christmas Dinner is planned around animals at my house

Every dinner at my house is planned with Leo (dog) in mind. He can't eat chicken because it gives him pancreatitis. When we have chicken, I always make sure there are vegetables that he likes. The vet just put him a diet that allows him to only eat his dog food and green beans. He loves green beans so that's OK. Now every night there is a little bowl of green beans next to my plate so that he can be handed table scraps in the manner that he is accustomed to.

sorry to hear that, but it probably would have ended up being more than just chickens. Sounds like a controlling type emerging. I have to say that things happen for a reason and that she was just probably not for you. Hang in there and you will find someone better suited for you. I know it hurts, but when you find your perfect someone you will never look back

They close SO SLOWLY that it's impossible for them to get caught in it. Also by the time the light sensor closes the door, it is really dark and the chickens have been on the roost for 45-60 minutes.

Now go find someone who loves animals.

"She just doesn't like pets and let me know that with so much misery in the world with humans, it is wrong to become involved with pets..."

Oh, puleeez! The people that I know that do the most good...people who foster kids and conduct food drives and shovel their neighbors' driveways... these are people who also make room for pets. The more love, the better. You sound like a caring guy. You need a gal who is as caring and giving and open as you are. Good luck!

You sound like a good, sweet man, so hang in there. You'll find the kind of gal who appreciates the Sponge Bob thing on the roof and the crazy chickens in the backyard. But, that's not everyone's cuppa tea, so you may have to be patient.

I'm sure if he put his location up more than one of the ladies would be willing to "merge flocks"
