The "son-Logan" Came to us as a hired hand 5 years ago when he was just 10-11??? He wanted to earn $ so my inlaws and us hired him to help with wood-lawns and such. His mom works two jobs and has a BF that, unfortunately, takes priority. So it has worked out great for all of us! My FIL is handicapped to where he can't walk well at all and Logan is his right hand man-they go fishing-hunting-camping etc...He practically lives out there with us. Seriously, He stays out with us 2-3-sometimes 4 x a week. Good kid for sure-has ADD..so He is a BALL OF ENERGY because he can't handle being on meds-so we burn off all his energy hahaha...it all works and best of all he is happy!

we believe it was dogs-Summer renters. In 5 years we've never had an issue-ever..They are always locked up tight as a drum at night too. They freeranged from 8 am until dark every night-until that day. I was playing softball in town and Dh had to leave downt he road for 45 minutes-when he returned half my flocks were killed and all over 6 acres-feathers everywhere. We had all neighbors and family out searching for bodies and survivors-it was during day light hours. We never did find a survivor:( and our oldest most favorite girls were killed-NOT EATEN-just killed--no heads missing nothing-all bodies intact except bite marks-and a few hens came up completely missing..It was one of our worst chicken owning days ever. Dh went out the next day and bought 100's of feet of fencing for huge outdoor runs-no more free ranging unless we stand guard the whole time!

Ouch! Man, dogs do damage! We had a dog that tried to get our baby goat--had to shoot it. Unfortunately, we didn't kill it, and it wobbled off to its owner before we could put it out of its misery. The owner showed up later and was upset, but was mostly good about it. However, if his dog shows up on our property again--well, it's curtains for Fido
