Just wondering what the voice is like? is it high pitched and loud or low and quiet? high pitched -gander low- goose.
Don´t forget to post pics when you find him/er a friend!I just went online and listened to a bunch of goose and gander calls. I'd probably have to say Gansy is a bit on the lower-pitched side. I guess all all sings point in that direction.
Thanks again for everyone's input. I really appreciate it!
First egg today. So, hopefully will start with goslings in about 6 weeks. No eggs yet. They´re still investigating nest sites. some are still sorting out their pairs. Noisy down there!![]()

Nice pics, MLyd.Okay many want to know how to tell difference between goose and gander, well got a good pic of my gander stance.
these last 2 were taken as Sam was coming over to get between me and Toots, I thought he was going to try and bite me but he actually put his neck against Toots and pushed her away from me.

Now you know why Sam steps in buckets and on the other members of the flock.

Only my gander gets this close doing this my goose will hiss but she does it at a distance. These pics are of my gander.you might enjoy this too.Ok, my goose Gansy definitely does this as well. Can you just confirm for me that only your goose does this and not the gander? I'm just curious.
With Gansy this stance is usually followed by sticking out of the tongue and very loud hissing.
Thank you so much for the pictures. It's very helpful. I think we've settled that he's a he. It's of no matter to us, we're very happy to have him and think he's pretty special.
Many Blessings,
