I thought so!! I'm great at sticking to resolutions, everyone who knows me knows that.... Just ask me as soon as I've forgotten last Jan. 1.

You would be surprised how well pullet eggs hatch . I have hatched a pullets first egg and the chick is out growing all the others . So don't let that stop you .@ Walnuthill has said and I agree that larger eggs have a lower hatch rate . Medium to smaller eggs seem to hatch better . For me that is. It stinks Because My Marans eggs tend to be very large pretty eggs sometimes and I can't get them to hatch most of the time .

And that is in a GQF cabinet incubator . Like size eggs in a small still air incubator will give a higher hatch rate . Reason being top of egg temperature is so critical . as for turning the first week is the most critical .Turn as often as you can during the first seven days . and like Banti said X up tonight O up tomorrow night .
That's good to know. We have a small, 12 egg incubator. I heard that the eggs laid the first month or two from a new pullet have a hard time hatching. I told her to give them a month or so, then we'd save 4-5 eggs and see what happened. LOL

Oh yea?? Which one of us has eggs incubating and which one doesn't?? :gig

Uhhhh...... Ask me in 16 days! :D

Ha! Zilch! Bators are clean and put away. I do have 2 broodies, but no one is laying, so they aren't on anything! :D

Oh great.... You just reminded me of the two broodies in the coop. I'd break them, but the pen is in use.... Sooo.......
