I candled today, no quitters and same as last EXCEPT...... ONE dark brahma has veins now!!!

This is the one I was not sure on because it was so porus. I'm so happy I was wrong!

I had a rotten egg in one of my Incubators today

had throw out four around it and two below it . I found three wild turkey eggs today and put them in the incubator . the nest had been raided by something and all the others had been eaten . they were clear and I don't know how old they are . Thought I'd see what happens .

anyhow Its like toys are us . ducks are here .

and somebody gotta post something here !!!

and I'm off to bed .

K!! Maybe those turkey eggs hadn't even been sat on yet, maybe she was still building up the brood? Good luck with them. Can't wait to see how this goes!


I moved 10 eggs to the hatcher last night. 4 lav orps and 6 golden sebrights. 2 of the GS look weird, lots of clear on the bottom of one, but I think I still saw movement so we'll see.

And I made a deal for serama eggs. She wanted LOs, so perfect trade for me!

Any body we know ? thanks WV I figured what the heck might as well try see what happens . plus may have been my fault bushhoged to close to the nest .I know wild eggs still have the natural instinct to be wild so I don't know what to do if they hatch .

1st hatch failed, 0 chicks, then 2nd hatch I corrected a problem and got a 91% hatch rate. Batch #3 is going into lockdown tomorrow. Pretty lousy fertility rate from my new egg source, but all of mine look good. Only one quitter so far.

And, I was gonna take a teeny break from hatching, but no dice...... I won 15 eggs the next day.

This will be my first try with shipped, so I'm nervous...... Nothing to lose though. Can't get any better then free. They should be on their way next Monday or thereabouts.

Free is best . so you'll have something to talk about won't you . Looked at the Turkey eggs last night one might be doing something

. Look again tomorrow when I lock down the eggs to hatch . I'm thinking about hatching SLW and GLWs and Marans depends on egg supply so my hatches won't be so big. but I'm so addicted to the hatch

In other news, just locked down.... 6/8 looked great, #7 & 8 I think are dead but I have been wrong. Hazy look to them and either incredibly faint veining or none. Those are fairly dark eggs though, so I'll assume I'm wrong.
