Hi, my name is Bubbles and I'm a chronic liar.....

22 eggs due the 23rd. Various EE and sultan xs.

BUT, I am not a total liar. I set these against my will!! I was selling my last batch of babies, and the lady pressed 2doz eggs into my hands.... Nope, not my fault at all.....
I knew you couldn't wait until spring. HA!

For ease of turning. It is a pain to individually turn 22 eggs 5x a day for 18 days. Putting 12 in my improvised turners makes it easier!
I'm so glad I read this. That's a great idea for turning eggs over!

We were going to write an X and O on each side, so we could keep track of what side they needed to be turned too. Do you need to turn them 5x a day? I was reading up and saw most people did it 2-3x a day.

I've had to convince my daughter wait another month or two to raise a batch of eggs, as the little eggs we just started getting from her hens aren't producing big enough eggs yet, I don't think for viable offspring.

Three is minimum, always turn an odd number of times so the same side isn't sitting overnight every night. I turn 5 'cause I can, the more times you can turn the better, but three is just fine.

You would be surprised how well pullet eggs hatch . I have hatched a pullets first egg and the chick is out growing all the others . So don't let that stop you .@ Walnuthill has said and I agree that larger eggs have a lower hatch rate . Medium to smaller eggs seem to hatch better . For me that is. It stinks Because My Marans eggs tend to be very large pretty eggs sometimes and I can't get them to hatch most of the time .

And that is in a GQF cabinet incubator . Like size eggs in a small still air incubator will give a higher hatch rate . Reason being top of egg temperature is so critical . as for turning the first week is the most critical .Turn as often as you can during the first seven days . and like Banti said X up tonight O up tomorrow night .
