I am a tree-hugger and Im proud of it I don't exactly appreciate your attitude. Its humans fault we're so selfish steal land that was once theirs they have no where to hunt, we poisoned the water 'the fish', cut down their trees, and shot at them. What else can they do? Just die? I don't think so. Anyway just please do NOT get me started on this issue, I was up til 6am arguing w/ a friend's friend at a sleepover about it, and other issues w/ our world. I hate people who really don't give a !@#$ about animals or the enviroment. Im 15 and I hope to be a enviromentalist or something of that sort Im a total Al Gore fannatic and Love Steve Irwin. So keep your oppions about tree huggers to your self because I won't if u don't.

You might want to do a LOT more research and read what I post tomorrow. The bears are overpopulated and there is nothing wrong with hunting if you do it humanely and use what you can from it. It is the way it always has been and is the way it still should be. WE are not as evil as they would have you believe...it will soon come to a bear eating a child who has its lunch in its back pack, go back and follow my picture link and look at the gross pictures. That bear was out of control and there is NO animal that should have me scared to walk out of my house for ANY reason. There needs to be a balance. Being for a bear hunt or any other hunt for the most part does not make us hate animals. All your food comes from somewhere... hunters can kill more humanely than some of the food farms. I hope you will truly explore both sides and not just believe the first thing you read. You might find yourself more closely aligned with the hunters than you think.

My daughter is a bit younger than you and can not wait for this issue to be resolved, when you look at those pictures remember that she sat helpless 40 ft or less away as her precious ducks were slaughtered, her pigeons were scared to death, and her chickens ripped limb from limb. Our coop has blood splattered walls and there are to many feathers in the yard to even begind to know how to pick them up. I am to scared to be outside to even clean the coop for fear the bear will eat me...

I loved Steve Irwin also. Al Gore....your just making him rich.

As for your opinion, you have a right to it, but first do your homework. Now comes your admonishment. Tree huggers are NOT environmentalist, they are self seeking fanatics. If your want to be a true environmentalist, study the American Indian. They were true environmentalist, they only killed what they needed to survive. Now Mr. Gore is a fanatic in it's pure state.
Steve Irwin is a different matter, he truly loved the animals he worked with. Even he would agree that animal management is the best form of perserving an species. For when any species becomes over populated, disease as well as abnormal growth patents occur. And before long the species will dissappear on its own.

Next, being only 15, what are you doing staying up until 6 a m? You should be in bed at the latest 10 p m.

I can tell you are a young lady just because of the way you wrote and there is nothing wrong with being a person concerned for the enviroment. However there is something wrong with the way some people will put humans in danger with their fanatic beliefs for animals over people. You use Steve Irwin as an example but he was all for protecting the animals but still keeping nature balanced. I also know for a fact that the hunting groups donate money every year (tons of it) for research programs that deal with wilflife and their needs so that they are balanced and not hunted out. You have a choice in life to be who you want and what you want to be, I would hope that you would give all of us the right to have the same rights you enjoy. Have you ever seen a bear, have you ever been threatened by a bear, has your animals ever been killed by a bear. There is a fine balance here and if you have never experiance it do you really have the right to condem anyone who has experianced it for how they feel. As I said I believe that you are a very young person. I sure hope you will go back to the Origanl post and look again at the pics and picture that happening to a young kid or any person for that matter. It can happen it does happen and these are people that are not way out in the country and it is happening every day. A PERSON is going to get hurt. How can anyone justify putting human safty over an animals.

This is my opinion here I am not asking you to share it but I do ask that you respect it as I respect your right to have yours.

Emzyyy....hello...please dont take offense to what i have to say...

......we have to remember that those poor bears are probably starving...to have them come so close to peoples houses ..etc...they ARE hungry....i'd rather see one humanely shot and put out of its hunger.
idunno.gif
....its the same with deer hunting...theres a REASON for it...if we humans dont help balance out nature..these animals WILL starve.(i promise you this..)....at least around my area they will.(and i'm assuming its the same every where)..have you ever seen a starving bear or deer?..its not a pretty thing....but i do understand your passion..and concern..but please remember.... REAL nature is not always nice and sweet, and we all skip along happily..
wee.gif
....living in harmony together......the poor bears and other animals are are loosing thier land...but...
idunno.gif
..what can anyone do?...all we can do is try to keep thier population in check...so they dont starve...

Very accurate statement. Just this week the Ohio Fish and Game Service found white tailed deer with wasting disease. It's highly contagious and usually fatal to infected animals. The deer in our state are very overpopulated. They extended the muzzle loader season by 3 days last year but it didn't make much of a dent in the population. I hope they act quickly to solve the deer overpopulation situation.
