for a couple of weeks now my speckled sussex chickens eyes have turned white when she blinks. she is eating and drinking fine and everything else seams normal. is it normal or something dangerous?
If so, that is completely normal. It is their third eyelid. These are called nicating membrane. They are used to clean, moisten, and overall protect the eye. If you try to touch your chicken's eye (not advised. ), you will see that the eyelid will come into view to protect the eye.
Make sense? If that's not what it is, I don't know.
