My Hen is Wheezing and Sneezing after laying first egg

Hopefully by morning the stridor will be gone. If not, she may have a virus or bacterial respiratory disease. As long as she is roaming around, eating and drinking, then she would be alright.

Infectious bronchitis is a vrus that is common and can be spread by wild birds. Mycoplasma (MG) is a bit more serious, and may cause watery/bubbly eye, sometimes a swollen eye, and lethargy. Let us know how she is tomorrow.

Yeah, she isn't making the noise anymore today, but it's really early in the morning so I'll have to see when I get back from school. Hopefully it was jut a stridor and not something else.

There are a lot of cases of this just disappearing once they cough up the lugee or whatever was in the throat. One of my hens who ate too quickly did the same thing for a couple of hours. Let us know that she is okay later.

I've watched her for the past two or so days and the wheezing has stopped. Thank you Eggcessive for the help, would've prob went crazy if I hadn't known what was going on :D.

My Black Cochin hen is just over 5 months old, and just laid her first egg today. She has been a very quiet hen up until today when she did a long, loud egg song this morning. She seemed fine and her egg was perfect. Late in the afternoon, (80 degree temp. here in Florida) she is breathing loud or like wheezing or labored breathing. Tonight I checked her and no unusual breathing, she was back to normal roosting with the others. I don't know what was going on.
