My Hen's Head is Upside-down

Quick google search said Tuna is a good source of Selenium. As PP have said, Vitamin E, and Selenium may fix her right up. I'd also include a source of B vitamins, and really, a good multi vit. Other thread searches for you to look at: Star gazing, crazy chick disease, wry neck, Vitamin E encephalopathy. I had a hen who was a moon walker, but only during times of stress: molting, cold weather. I'd give her some Poultry Nutri drench and that would fix her right up until the next episode. She was a wonderful layer.

I definitely agree with the post I have quoted. I feel as though this will definitely come in handy for you and your hen.

I think I'm behind slightly optimistic if I say she's going better today. I'm going to get some poly-vi-sol tonight after work. I only had D-vi-sol in the cabinet. Im not sure how much she's actually drinking, so should I syringe it in to her? Do I dilute it?

I just dosed her .5 ml of the poly-vi-sol, which is half the recommended dose for a baby. Hoping to see some improvement. I called vets today and no one but the exotic pet vet will treat a chicken. She's considered an exotic pet I guess! And it's. $77.10 just for an office call there. It's a relatively rural area, I guess I assumed farm vets would treat chickens, but I was told no three times.
It's been about 24 hours since I found her yesterday in the run, and no real visible improvement with just the Save A Chick. Hopefully this vitamin will help.

It's been four days since Susan started exhibiting symptoms. For the past 3 I've been giving her vitamin E in the morning, poly-vi-sol in the evening, and save-a-chick in her water each day. No marked progress, but she's not any worse. I tried to make a brace from bubble wrap and vet wrap but she didn't tolerate it well, so I removed it. I've read this recovery can take weeks, so I'm being patient, just wanted to give an update. Thanks to everyone for your input and knowledge!

Day five and she's starting to get better! The vitamins must be working! We've gone through about a gallon of Save A Chick, too. Yay!!!! It's slow progress, but progress nonetheless!

Great news! Keep up the good work!

When I give vitamins to my chickens I break some bread into little bits and put a drop of polyvisol on each.
Even though they don't like the taste of vitamins they can't resist the bread because it's a treat they seldom get.
