My bird was picked on just recently too and doesn't have feathers on his head back or neck. They are kinda growing back but im not sure. Do you think they'll grow back???????????? :/

Call me paranoid, but is this the one that I thought looked sick way back when? I'm sure you're all getting tired of me saying this, but this is where having a baseline weight on a bird is helpful. I'm not saying he's sick, and yes, he could have hurt himself, but ours are the same age, so I'd expect them to be similar in many ways, like making adult noises (mine started in November), roosting at night and weight. Just so you have a reference, I looked up the last weights on two of mine:He seems to be fine, he is eatting and drinking well, He is the most humane trusting of all of my peafowl, Poor guy was picked on as a young bird and he has bald spots on the top of his head which I don't think will ever grow back.
Yes they will grow back, i got some sad cases last year and they are fine now, it just takes time for the feathers to go threw their cycle. My bird was picked on just recently too and doesn't have feathers on his head back or neck. In this picture it looks like an injury to me, but I am paranoid, so I would weigh him and watch him closely.ZAZ wow and I thought mine look bad, I can't wait for them to molt or do what ever they have to do to get some new feathers, And get there big Boy Feathers. DO they have to Molt to do this or do they lose and grow feathers year round?
I don't think he is sick, they are wormed and eat well, moves fine also, He is no as active as the others but he doesn't seem sick to me either. I don't know though he is the favorite around here so I hope he is ok.
The pea on the right in the picture (post # 15) looks like he would be dragging his wing if the primaries had not been clipped, so this is not normal, even for a pea, IMHO.I notice that the peas don't seem to carry or hold their wings up as much as my chickens and ducks do. I thought it was perhaps due to being so confined but looking at the photos of some of you all's relaxed birds I think they are just comfortable. If my other poultry had droopy wings I would be freaking out.
I am wondering, Joe, if they just do not have a strong body yet. they sure had it rough before you got them so I am thinking it may take many months for them to get strong again. However, I am like you, I worry and wonder if I can treat for something.
Have you had their stool checked for parasites? I think we already talked about deworming but I have a fecal done at my local vet to make sure I am getting them treated for the right parasite at least twice a year.
