Kristy, we posted right around the same time, hang on, we are in this together. This is both of our first time hatching and it is Easter week-end, keep me updated!!!!

I can also hear mine peeping!

DAY 19

WE JUST GOT HOME AND 2 CHICKS ARE OUT OF THE SHELL!!!!!!!!!

THEY ARE HATCHING 2 DAYS EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK ONE IS A SILKIE BECAUSE IT'S SOLID WHITE AND CAME OUT OF THIS TEENY TINY WHITE SHELL. THE OTHER WE KNOW IS A BANTIE FROM OUR FRIEND.

I SURE HOPE THEY DON'T ALL HATCH TONIGHT WHILE WE ARE SLEEPING. THE KIDS ARE ALREADY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE WE MISSED SEEING THESE TWO HATCH. Kristy

My two babies hatched tonight, we watched just about the whole thing, it was awesome. They are doing great and I will be putting them in the brooder soon.

Kristy, congratulations on your two babies. Hope you get a very good hatch!

Thank you! We just watched #3 come out. Do chicks have umbilical cords? He has something that looks stringy white with red still hooked to his butt. I don't know what it is. The whole lining of his egg inside the shell looks pinkish red like blood. Is this all normal? Kristy

Day 20

We had 2 chicks hatch during the night, so now there are 5 out of their shells. The one chick still has the egg attached to him with a tiny string to his butt. He is dragging it around the bator. We have two, tiny solid white chicks. I think they must be silkies. Does anyone know if silkies are born pure white? We also have 4 more big pips that are working on getting out as I type this.

My daughter just said the tiniest egg just hatched, so there are 6 out of their shells now. Today is going to be so much fun. I can't believe how mostly easy this has been, even though I hated my bator, had spiked temperatures a couple of times, and have dry heaves when I cracked open the culled eggs. I can't wait to see what color they all end up to be. Kristy
