I'd just thought to crochet the letters into the blanket, changing colors. But maybe topstitching would be the way to go. I'll talk to Echo and see which he'd like. Stitching it in the crochet would be a crapton of ends to tie off and finish

Phil, glad you got to see your daughter

Thanks for clarifying that! Bet your dtr is glad you're the ugly one!

This is the second TG in a row that I've not had to host the meal. Such a blessed relief! Hubby and I made 2 pumpkin pies, and an apple streussel pie last night. Went to my SIL, 2 hours south. She and her BF put on a wonderful meal. Got to skype with her dtr who is just now sharing news that she's 4.5 mo. preg. She'll be a wonderful Mom.

Wow...I can't believe we must have both blinked when I shot the picture ...oh well was my first ever selfie...

I talked to Echo about the options for lettering on the project, and he decided to go with a pillow, with the name topstitched over the base crochet. The pillow will hide the work on the backside, and he can do a name on each side if he wants. I think it's cute he's putting all this thought into it. I'll be looking to buy some yarn for him tomorrow or Saturday.

Dinner came out wonderful, if I do say so myself

. I just paced myself and took pretty much all day to prep and cook, and everything was great. Used my newfound pie crust making ability--LG, I think it was you who suggested making three crusts out of one recipe? I did that--top and bottom for the apple, and just bottom for the pumpkin, and it was a perfect amount. Thanks for the idea! Blooie, I made your sausage stuffing with NFC's sausage recipe. My very own green bean casserole, roasted yams, rolls. I did my turkey according to the instructions from Cook's Illustrated and it was perfect, moist meat with crispy skin. It involve turning the bird frequently, but worth it IMO. Honey was kind of disappointed I didn't cover it with bacon, but I really wanted that crispy skin.
