My leukemia's back.

Agreed! So not a fan of cut flowers, all I can think is how much $$$ was just wasted........I love the thought behind them, but it just seems so silly, especially given how expensive they are anymore!

Much better than cut flowers -- I love that he was able to get them to root, that's a gift that keeps on giving!
What wonderful pictures! I had to do a double take as Hollywood's little friend is a dead ringer for a little girl I met while visiting my sister in Mississippi recently.

Story of my life, lol
Even worse than that, IMO is all the money spent on cards. Those things are getting ridiculously expensive, and for what? I'd much rather have a hug, a telephone call, or a visit... even a piece of chocolate!!! (can you tell, I'm not terribly sentimental???)

We have a local dollar store where they have nice cards for 50 cents each.

As far as flowers goes, well, I have taught myself to arrange flowers and make arrangements very cheap. We recently had a funeral to attend of a family friend. I put the arrangement together with potted miniature roses and fresh cut flowers that were on clearance. The floral department gives you free water tubes for placing the fresh flowers in there. Also small cards & holders are free. I spent less than $12 for the entire planter. I also deliver my planters myself if the funeral is local. Kroger (grocery store) charges $7 for delivery, flower shops charge $14-$20 just for delivery. Now you all know my secret of saving at least $100 a year:D.

Me too Blooie. And I'm terribly sentimental.

Outpost, love how you figured out how to add such a personal touch to the arrangements and even delivering them yourself when possible!

Love it. That's the way to do flowers! When my dtr got married, a friend did all of the flowers. She chose silk, but could have easily gone with real flowers. Saved a bundle on them. Did the bridal veil also... amazingly simple to put together! I love to go out in the yard and pick flowers. So easy to have fresh flowers on the table from May - Sept without spending a dime!

And, my friend, there's NOTHING WRONG with that. And, this is just for you. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/562598178425383375/?from_navigate=true

Aww, thanks LG - the hummingbirds on that quilling pin were amazing! I never had the patience for that kind of work but so admire those who do!

Last night our daughter and SIL hosted a dinner in honor of my # 1 grandson's high school graduation. What has always been a very nice boy is rapidly becoming a very nice man. Now when I hug him, I have to stand on tiptoes.

And the great thing is that he still hugs both of his grandfathers and also his grandmothers.
