My leukemia's back.

Today was better than yesterday. He actually told me yesterday that he understands my frustration and that he figures I am very close to quitting. Surprised I haven't quit yet. (I work for 3 perfectionists. And two of them micromanage always!) I didn't indicate I was frustratrated or say anything about it. The conversation came out of the blue. He said his super will be having a meeting with me soon and he is afraid of the outcome. I was totally taken off guard yesterday.

Today I told him, "By the way, what you said yesterday about me quitting, not happening. I am not a quitter. If I'm not meeting their expectations, they can fire me, but I will not quit." He had a different attitude after that. I don't think it's over at all, but at least I got thru the day:). My new job is complicated. Even people with their degrees on top of degrees don't know everything, but they seem to expect you to sink or swim. I'm treading. I've learned a lot and after yesterday I wrote down all the new systems I have had to learn in 2 months time, so when the meeting comes up, I can fire back.

Outpost, I went into work yesterday for the first time in a few weeks. I'd forgot how loud some specific co-workers are! Seriously, yelling back and forth between offices. I'd never said anything before cause, well, I just don't. Avoid confrontation and all that. But I'm thinking I may need to ask them to use "inside voices" or something.....I was literally flinching when this chick two feet from my shoulder would scream something to the boss 50 feet away. Good thing is, she doesn't work on Friday, so I'm good today.

Sorry your boss is being a butt. I know it's hard, but sometimes you just need to call folks on things when they're so out of line.

Hope everyone has a good day, I've got to get off the computer and get stuff and things done.

My work is opposite. So quiet. 20 people there. We come and go at different times starting around 6am-9pm. You would never know there is that many people there. Most days I am there from 6:30am-8am before anyone says anything other than one or two people saying "hi" or "good morning" when they pass my cubical.

If the person in the next cubical wants to talk to me, they send a conference request to my calendar of which I am immediately alerted. That drove me crazy at 1st. Seemed lazy or impersonal to me that they wouldn't just walk over to my cubical and talk. Hearing your situation, I see the purpose and can appreciate the quietness.

Oh your work place would drive me up a freaking wall.... I always had the radio tuned to talk radio. And heard shop noises all day long.

Hon, I hope things get cleared up for you. Life's enough without drama at work, right?

More chicks hatched from my broody Maggie today, all blue eggers. Got some cute splash, those will be fun to see grow out.

Oh, and I was at the Grange looking for pants for the boys...not my fault they have their fall chicks in, right? I mean, since I've got the brooder up and running, it's almost wasteful to only have a tiny number of chicks in it

Only 5? Isn't there room for more? ;).

Sorry I complained so much yesterday. I am very fortunate to have a job. You all have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning all!

OGM, nice to see you back

This must have been the summer to relocate...DH and I moved too (from FL to WY). Hope you're enjoying your new location!

Rachel, congrats on getting some splash with the hatch. I love that coloration! And such remarkable restraint getting only 5 RSL, lol.

It must have been in the air -- are you all settled in your new home?

No apologies from you - we all need to vent and you have more than enough to vent about!

LOL - clearly you were set up, I mean what were you supposed to do - walk out without buying chicks??????
Congrats on the hatch - look forward to seeing how they grow out.

I am glad that it was a better day - but what a frustrating situation all around --- I am glad to hear you stood up for yourself in what you said re: the quitting remark. Hang in there.

Headed south to visit my sister/mom for the day - - - it's so weird, I went years between visits before the move and it wasn't as bad as having been three whole weeks since I last saw most of them (mom came up about a week ago for a day), I think I got used to seeing them every day while we were staying with them during the house-hunt period.
