My leukemia's back.

Meh. Yesterday was a holiday, home with the boys again. I'm telling you, there is such a thing as too much togetherness. They were getting on my nerves!

This thing with the insurance company is getting on my nerves, also. They are no where close to giving us what it's going to cost to replace our truck. Now, I find out they've been running comps on gas trucks, not diesel. And for some reason it's taking over a day to re-run with the diesel.....I'm getting so frustrated at only having one vehicle. The little Corolla is giving us issues also, it's currently parked at a local market where it died.

Honey walked in on a suicidal patient yesterday. I don't know about other states, but Oregon is cracking down on dispensing narcotics. I agree in general, but you can't just take these poor folks that have been given pain meds for years and years and stop them cold turkey. So, he was at that visit over 2 hours, dealing with the Sheriff and transporting the patient, that put him so far behind. He's pretty burned out on his job already, wrecking the truck didn't help, and they just keep piling up the hours on him when everyone else calls in sick or snowed in. He needs to stand up and say enough, but apparently he's not going to. He's filled out an application for an office type job, and I think it may be best for him. He's working 10+hours a day, and when he's home he's not much fun to be around, so stressed.

I did get all our inspections scheduled on the new place, so we'll see how those come back over the next 2 weeks or so.

At least the sun looks to be coming out today. I was all set to go down to the Y and use the pool, then I remembered....I have no vehicle

Rachel, I feel your pain about the vehicle insurance...such a frustrating thing to deal with. When DH totaled our car last June, it took until the end of September for the insurance company to settle. For that whole time we only had DH's old work truck (on it's death bed) and golf carts for going back & forth from home to the course. Hope that gets resolved soon.

Your Honey's job sounds stressful, I hoe the office job comes through for him.

Good luck with the inspections! Any nibbles on your place yet?

We had some folks out over the weekend to look, but haven't had any offers.

Just got off the phone with the insurance guy. Why does it take 2 days to run a comp? This is just ridiculous. they sure don't have any of the bosses I've worked for!

He kept saying we should have a partial check today.....that was his big focus. That's well and dandy, but that few thousand dollars ins't going to get me another truck. I have a tote (1500lbs) of chicken feed setting at the feed store that needs to get home--how am I supposed to do that? And how about getting boys to work? Or me to the store--I'm going kinda batshit crazy home all the time. I made a quick run to Wal-mart last night with Honey.....bless his heart, but I hate going to the store with that man.

Grrr----sorry, guess I needed to vent. Okay, breathe and reset......

I think I'll go make some split pea soup. Sounds like a plan.

That hit close to home! Made me laugh a little

There's nothing wrong with venting, we all need to do it sometimes.

YEA! The acceptance on your offer on the new house came through!
How is Echo??  (This isn't medical advice but on a scale of 1-10 for migraines, my dd had 8-9 migraine for weeks on end. She hated meds as they totally knocked her out. She went to having an occasional glass of regular Coke. She says it regularly helped her out especially if she could feel it coming on. God finally healed her totally! She still gets headaches but not migraines.)
Everyone staying warm??  Breathing ok?  Rachel, could you ask for help packing from your church? And would someone in your church have a loaner truck for a few weeks? The God who owns the cattle on the hills definitely knows where a truck could be borrowed or given or bought!

Yes, I really like my new job! And yes, my family is figuring out how to work things without mom the taxi driver, mom the cook, mom the receptionist and appointment maker, mom the College advisor and copier, maid, etc. You can pray for DH though! LOL. The rules have changed and he isn't so sure about me working 30+ hours and being gone from 8 am to 7 p.m. Last night he said I needed to make sure that I made plans to have crock pot dinners, casseroles, etc for me to cook when I got home about 7:00 p.m. because he doesn't like doing the cooking, not to mention fitting everything else in during his time working from home. I said that everyone needs to pitch in more. He also said he really doesn't want me working 2 jobs, to drop one of my jobs and for me to work only 20 or so hours a week.    Well, then my spunky 17 y/o dd said it was good that he started to cook and that she, and her brother, could also cook. Dh was not thrilled about that statement.  He is really having a bit of a hard time adjusting!  :gig
Meanwhile he just confessed that we are going to be 1500 short this month. Just about the amount I should make this month... hmmm... let's do the math... nope, don't think I'll be quitting 1 of my 2 jobs any time soon.

So if it's -44, just how do you keep chickens warm???  Just the thought of it is enough to make me shiver (so says she as I cuddle up with a heating pad and my computer...)
You guys made me hungry at the mention of french toast and bacon! Now wish I had bought some from Sam's club today.... Maybe waffles in the morning, well, in 5 hours when everyone else gets up???
Any action with ice fishing , Phil?
Stay warm, you guys!  :hugs  Thinking of all of you!  :caf :caf

I like to cook.... Unfortunately not for just myself though.... Ice fishing has been okay ... Lot of small ones but that just means next year should be better.

Sorry I've not been on lately.... Lot of stuff going on. Dealing with my wife's health..... Then her good friend died Saturday from the same thing my wife is dealing with..... That's two of her best friends in less than a year.
...... :/

Phil, Lifting you and your wife up to the throne room. May God touch her with His healing hand. May He give her doctor and care givers wisdom and compassion. Strength and good rest for you so you can bear up under the burden. Both of you surrounded by loved ones who can put feet on their prayers.

Oh, Phil, I am so sorry to hear about your wife's friend. I will be holding you and your wife up in prayer!
