Finally done!!!

He is out of surgery.

one reason it was so long is they took out as much as they thought they needed... sent a sample to pathology. .came back as more cancer. ...

so they took another slice out, sent another sample to pathology...3 extra slices later they had clean tissue left and could move on.

Haven't yet heard if any cancer had gotten into the lymph nodes.

my mom is exhausted though. And my dad is not expected to wake up until tomorrow. So my mom is going home, probably no more info until tomorrow.

Stressful day, 'Al'. I know from experience how difficult is being a distance away when a loved one goes through this sort of stuff. Hoping for the best for all involved.

not really.

for some reason even though she has 2 siblings in town, they aren't that close.

My sister comes down to my mom's every weekend, but my sister has 7 kids...sooooooooo I am think that is probably not a help.

So yeah, my poor mom! She is hanging in there pretty well though.
