I've read elsewhere on the board a red heat lamp is better so the chickies don't have to deal with a bright spotlight on them 24/7. Anyone have an opinion one way or the other?

The red light will help prevent and stop pecking and picking of chicks. They can inflict alot of damage to one another by pecking.
