My Love Affair With Ducks...

Pics
That's the difference between dux and xickens: Dux are peaceful, welcoming beings, simply the bright side!
Yeah, Ralphie, your ‘evil dux’ are really such sweet and loving creatures. Not the hateful old peckers chickens can be. Although I still love my chickie babies. You really need to get some. They’ll turn that frown upside down! :lau :love

Nope! - Katharinas ducklings were drilling on day five or six after experiencing their first shower under momma. After that it was drill baby, drill! - Momma duck was so proud of those little holes!
In order to drill that early, they may need to be shown by moma duck.

Noooo, no frogs yet. That’s the equivalent of drinking an adult beverage at 10 years old. She’s still a baby!
That's correct, but she needs the next challenge: A nice, large, juicy, slimy snail. One of those disgusting ones that make grown up women shiver, squeak and jump on the next available chair… 😱

They do that to clean out their nostrils. And yes it is simply cute! After raiding the compost there is a line of 4-5 ducks to both sides of my waterer all polishing their bills… :love
… and clogging the drain valve! :barnie
Okay, that makes sense. I could tell there was something different about what they were doing in the water.

Well, you have fingers and fingernails, just go ahead… :gig
No, seriously: That vibration is deeply embedded into their genetic code, they just do it. They even vibrate in your brooder…

Careful! That is an attempt of the dark side xickens to get rid of their master! Once you start working on the building they will scratch the last support away and… :sick poor Ralphie! :hit
Oh Lordy, this was funny.

I think Ralphie has met his match!

Ralphie vs. HillBilly - tickets will be on sale soon! :lau :gig

We don’t have a multitude of snails, but we used to be overrun with dang slugs. My chickens have put a HUGE dent in the slug population. Thank goodness.
