Listen to the big, white duck snoring. I know it’s hard to hear the first time with all the chicken and traffic noise, so you might have to listen twice, but I swear Petey Snores! She still doesn’t hold a candle to my DH though!

When is the last time you fed those poor things?

Anytime I come out with one of those bright neon plates, they’re convinced it’s their treat time. No exceptions. But they do literally act starved, when clearly they aren’t!

Morning Bath Time is peaceful...for the ducks, but not so much for me with all that dang cackling going on. I like to see the ducklings rise up out of the water flapping their wings, even though their feet are not touching the bottom of the pool.

I could literally sit and watch them all day. Sometimes I watch them and the chickens too much.

I let the chickens and the ducks mingle again for a while this afternoon. Everything went fairly smooth, but we did have a few incidents. What I did not get on camera was a couple of the ducklings picking at a couple of my chickens toes. One chicken in particular was Gabby, my Speckled Sussex. You’ll have to keep that in mind when watching these videos.

I think the ducklings were more curious about the chickens than the chickens were about them. All the hens really wanted was the ducks’ food, which is the exact same as theirs. However, as the old saying goes, “Curiosity kills the cat,” curiosity also drove Latte To Get A Little Chicken Tail!

The first incident in Duck v Chicken is Peaches taking a nip at Rusty’s toe. He wasn’t terribly upset about it but he moved on.

Then Quinny decides she’s gonna take a bite of the SS, Gabby’s, comb. That wasn’t a smart move and she was flogged for it. She squealed and ran back to the rest of the ducklings complaining at the top of her lungs.

One of my younger BO’s, Buffy, thinks she’s a little higher on the chick ladder than she really is. She’s only high on the rooster’s ladder - notice the cheetah print ‘ho saddle!’ Yep, around here it’s only the ho hens that wear saddles.
They work hard for their money!
Anyway, Buffy made a run at the ducks, just for the heck of it.

Latte’s Eye Is On Chickaletta, the White Plymouth Rock, and I have no idea why. All I know is she followed Chickaletta around in a stalking manner for quite a while. Eerie!

And here is the goofy Petey again...making noises that remind me of an immature teenage boy. Just listen, Petey Quacks Underwater, but it sounds like a fart! Then she makes a go at trying to eat a rock. Oh dear lord, please tell me she won’t really try and then get choked on the rock. I won’t be able to take it!
