I know this is another "we hate the P.O" thread and it's understandable that people are peeved in this thread. I am, too. But the above is a HUGE generalization and untruth. There are a lot of us at the P.O that care. More than that don't, I would wager.

Unfortunately, those with bad experiences are louder and more vocal about it than those with good experiences. (As is the case with many things in life, I know.)

Sorry about that, I meant none of them at her post office, not the whole PO in general....there've been a lot of people on here talking about how their PO's helped, so I know it's not general...I just don't think any at her PO care. Sorry about the misunderstanding....

Okay, thank you.

I would gurantee if the postal inspector comes down on the postmaster, something will be done to that carrier. Mind you, it may not be obvious to customers, but she will probably be reprimanded, possibly moved to another route or temporarily suspended. Not sure if she would lose her entire job for it, but I've seen people lose them for less.

You should make a montage video with a song called "how many peple wanna kick some a**". I love that song

I posted as 'just_me'....I think everyone should include "I'm shipping FedEx from now on....' I remember mentioning FedEx once inside a PO and I got the DIRTIEST looks from the workers...I guess FedEx is a potty word over there...LOL!!

Here's my post:

For some reason I always believed that labeling a package as "fragile" actually made a difference, but not anymore. My friend's package was deliberately mishandled, resulting in total destruction of the contents of her package. A mail carrier THREW a package from their vehicle while going 15-20 miles per hour, then when the post office was called about the issue the recipient was told it wasn't the Post Office's responsibility and that the package was probably already damaged. No one knows if the package was already damaged, but we do know that it was DESTORYED after being thrown. So was the mail carrier just making sure? My friend should have been reimbursed for the mail carrier's negligence, but instead she was told that it wasn't their responsibility. I, as well as millions of people across the U.S., trust the post office on a daily basis to deliver my mail and to ship packages that can be very expensive, and the fact that this person's valuables were treated so disrespectfully appalls me. I think I'm going to be shipping FedEx from now on....

I sent an e-mail to that post office e-mail requesting someone look into this. Hope it helps. I put the link to this thread on there so they can get the "Paul Harvey rest of the story"!

THANKS, JMajors!
It will probably help if other people would contact USPS, too, via that Consumer Advocate Response Team address [email protected] to be sure that the email doesn't get overlooked. I am sending one myself.
Thanks to everyone who helps on this issue.
And a HUGE THANKS to the USPS carriers and administrators (including my local ones) who ensure EXCELLENT delivery of so many packages SO MANY times!!!

My mom always tells me that one person can make a difference but you cannot make a difference by keeping your mouth shut. Someone cares out there, you just have to find out who does!!!!
