p.s. bleenie... is $15 a muscovy hen a good deal????

That's what everyone (but a couple people) over here is asking. i think its fair, this time of year anyway since feed prices are higher than normal.

I do alot of swapping with people here, lol. but most I know ask about $15 for theirs & $20 for the boys....there is a pair thats been online for months because the people want $30/ea

Lisa, so cute! Smart duckie.

My silly chickies WOULDN'T roost. I let everyone, even the chicks, out at 5 so I could clean the waterers, bedding, etc. We ate dinner and when I went out there, all the chickens were in bed but the chicks REFUSED to go back in the brooder. I had to chase them around in the mud/rain & catch them all one by one. I did learn something though: it is much easier to catch a chickie with slightly damp hands.

Chickenlittle - those eyes are CHEATING!! lol

And Muscovies are a roosting duck so...

lol, what can we expect form the little buggers? My hens like to "roost" On the ladders, and ramps and tree branches i drag into the pen for them.

I got this fella, without knowing ANYTHING about him. I never would have thought that, being a duck, he would roost! HAHA!

Thought I would share with everyone. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know that "Muscovies are a roosting duck".

Muscovies were the only waterfowl we had on the farm where I grew up. When I finally got enough money to get out of the cities and get a farmette of my own ( in my 50's ) I was given some goslings.... One of the first posts I made on a poultry board asked how high I should put the roost bars in the barn for my geese! I didn't know that most domestic ducks and geese didn't fly or roost...
