My neighbor kidnapped and abused my chickens-seriously

Some people are a poor excuse for a human being. Personally I would be really upset. Like my hubby say's beware of the attitude behind the beware of sign when entering without being asked to enter.

WOW!! I can't believe all this support!! Thank you all so much. I'm picking up the police report tomorrow. Then pressing charges, and filing for a restraing order, after court, I will contact her job. Thank God they're all ok for the time being. They're in my basement for now-afraid to put them outside..........
This guy is insane. Very cruel-I just do not understand..........................

The story is true, I am confused and heartbroken, and can't figure out way someone would do this. We got home from NYC, just before the blizzard. As soon as I pulled up my driveway, my husband and I went get them to put them in the coop-barn thing that they live in. We could not find them, the snow was light at the time, we spent most of the day looking for them. And the next day. I came to the conclusion that were lost in snow, and maybe didn't survive. we looked again today, and that's when my neighbor saw my husband and said "I have your effin chickens-they heard me looking for them the night of the blizzard-they knew I was upset-why not a note on the fence or my door-call the cops-something to let me know that he had them. He would not let my husband get them. Instead he grabs them by the legs-turns them upside down and throws them into street. And goes back in house as my husband gathers them up. As soon as I got wind-I called the police, filed a report. I had another bad expeirence with the wife-she works for the Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital in Bergen County NJ. One of my geese was attacked by a bear, my 7 year old son was hysterical. We asked her help-the vet thing-figured she'd know what to. I get "I hate birds" from her-cold, uncompassionate. Now they have 3 chickens, and they do get in my yard from time to time, I have never treated them that way, I would walk them to the front of their yard. They say they were keeping them safe-but throwing them into street, and not telling me that they had them?? Just a sick game?? I will try to get the right service tomorrow to report this as animal abuse. Would anyone know in Northern NJ-where I should go??
That is after I do the police thing...........

Also, I don't know how he got them-did they go in his yard?? Or did he take them, because he saw we weren't home???

Do you NOT have a coop??

I am still confused. Chickens do not belong outside after dark.

I am starting to agree with the other suspicious hens here....

I didn't have a coop the first year and a half we had chickens...they were 24/7/365 free range birds who would roost in the trees. They were strays that showed up after a neighbor moved out.

Hi:

I would be pretty upset as well. Good luck with the cops!

Are the chickens okay now? If not, you should post in the emergency section to get help on how to care for their wounds.

I'm personally sorry that you'be been treated like this in an open forum ~ my personal opinion is that if you feel someone isn't being sincere then move on. No need to gang up on someone who posts the first time with an unsual story.
