Lovely babies. Do you have a way of providing wood shavings for the floor of the brooder. Its better for their feet. Or paper towels or that waffle weave drawer liner. I know you are in South Africa. Best for the chicks if they have flooring with some kind of traction for their feet to grip. Newspaper is rather slick.

Using a red bulb will not keep your chicks up at night. Your regular bulb makes it daylight all day long, so they are confused. They are beautiful chicks - so you have done a very good job of raising them.

yes i used the graphic for two days i now use wood shavings

"Cute little biddies," as my grandma would say. Sounds like your doing it right so far, your supposed to keep the heat lamp until they completely grow their feathers. I don't think you have to get a new bulb, I always just raised the height to cool it down. It is perfectly normal for them to be more active at night, mine used to peep and jump around all night, then sit in the corner for the day. Good luck

I'm not exactly sure about how old they have to be to have fruit, I never gave mine until they were ready to go outside, and they were fine. Good luck!

GUYS PLEASE I NEED HELP .I HAVE THIS BRAHMA CHICK WHICH IS 3WEEKS OLD,ITS A STRONG BIRD BUT AT TIMES IT SLEEPS WHEN STANDING WHILST THE OTHERS ARE ACTIVE ALSO IT HAS NO FUR ON IT BODY ONLY THE WING FEATHERS ....I DO NOT KNOW IF ITS FUR OR FEATHERS WILL GROW OR ITS SICK?HOW DO I TREAT IT PLEASE HELP...I HAVE UPLOADED PICS THE BRAHMA CHICK PLEASE HELP ME OUT
