Ok, so after Lucas and I making some bucket nest boxes I talked him into helping me make two new feeders for less waste. We were using a big tub that had their seed block and their pellets in it but after seeing how the new cheepers wreak havoc in it I thought I'd give in and put some hanging feeders back up.
We made two, one for pellets and one for crumbles (bc we have anotehr cross beak and several young chickens).
Here's the finished product, I will be hanging and filling them tomorrow

Yes you can....I just haven't figured out how to bolt them to the base. I could use a rubber washer or something as a seal, but in the event that the seal leaks it would be one heckuva mess. So instead, I just place the bucket and base on a couple paver stones inside the coop.

Lookin good!

Doing the same for water would work fine IF and that's a big if, you can get a good strong vaccume in the bucket. Like using the bucket upside down, but then deal with having to figure how to fill it.
