My new Seramas from ChickenAddict *PIC HEAVY!!*

Candled the eggs. All but one have big dark blobs, a little bitty clear blob, and an air sac, so..

The Serama egg had been in the turner upside down, but it seems to be developing. I gently turned it over so the air sac is up now. My flashlight sucks, so I couldn't see much detail.

I put 7 more Serama eggs I got from Rizq on the crazy egg train in the 'bator tonight too.

I'm anxiously waiting for 2/9..

with them. I reccomend ALOT of hands on for the first month to tame them, after that they won't stay off of you

T'Oliver got a buddy today. Chicken, the white Coturnix hen, was getting picked on by the Italian pair I'd put her in with after her mate went evil and became dinner for Manda. Tolly has been making a lot of noise if I'm not out there with him, and seemed to be lonely and stressed. He's curious about his new cage mate and keeps walking up and staring at her, or when she eats, he sticks his head in the hole to see what she's chowing on. Doesn't seem aggressive at all. Chicken's a bit frightened of the giant she's now in with, but she's calmed down enough to sleep in the nest box. Tolly wants nothing to do with the box, he prefers the perch.

So, we'll see how they get along until I hatch out a real hen for Tolly.

No eggs from Peaches yet. Shouldn't be long, though.

Eggs due on the 9th, I think I'm going to switch 'em to the hatcher tonight just to be safe. It looks like the teeny weeny Serama egg is developing.

I think there's only 1 clear out of that batch.

Looks like a bunch of my eggs from the swap aren't, though. Darnit! I'll re-candle them in a few days and see.

The other Serama eggs are all clear, but I'm going to give them a few more days and candle again. I just put them in last week, but was impatient to see if I could see veining by day 7.

I hope you have good luck with your Serama eggs!

I'm worried about mine. Candled Mon noght and had good veins in most. Then Tues the power was out for 2 hours. Temp got down to 80. I'm praying they are okay when I candle Sat to check on them. I sure hope they make it. Seeing your pretty babies has just made me want them more!!!

My button quail eggs were due to start hatching the 7th

I just don't see how those itty bitty eggs could survive the temperature drop

Mine survived two temp spikes, one to 103 and one down to 86 for a few hours. They hatched just fine, so here's to hoping yours do too!! If you wind up needing more buttons, let me know. Mine won't stop laying and I'm running out of people who want the eggs.

hey wegotchickens, they should be fine. 2 hours is nothing all it will do is delay the hatch a bit so they may hatch a day late. I used a reliable broody to hatch mine that way no worries if the power went out or bator temps were a bit whacky. serama eggs i have heard are a bit tricky to hatch in an incubator.

You've given me some hope!!
I did leave them in the hatcher with the higher humidity, just in case. There are 2 silkie & a bantam cochin in there too.

that all will hatch out okay!!! They are the first of this year!!

I really want buttons. If these don't make it I may take you up on the egg offer! Thank you!!! You're very kind.
