My night time visitors

Get ammonia and surround the board of the coop and try wolf urine and soak cotton balls with the urine and as well put it around the coop I also suggest digging 8-12 in the ground and putting barbed wire or metal sheeting to prevent predators from getting in and might need to re force the top of it too and if possible move the pen closer to the house and have motion sensored light s and maybe sound alarms to scare them off hope you're hens will be safe

I'd suggest using that ill tempered Jaguar's scent marking at the Ft Worth zoo!

Just don't get too close to the chain link when he is close.

edit- He can be found in the Texas section right next to the Green Jays.

:goodpost: O and i hear that human urine will also help,so if you have any boys get all your boys to go pee out by your coop, unless the neighbors can see ..?:eek:then i would not do that....lol..;) :D

In theory to me and don't say it's not as effective so a possible blend of human ammonia and wolf urine or predators urine should help and be way more effective then home urine you have to think big cats do mess with humans sometimes

Being a fellow Texan having lived in the DFW area most of my life growing up I would expect a visit from the police for discharging a firearm within Dallas County.

Probably best to just bait them with some type of rat poison laced meat. Rebait as needed when the next generation shows up. I did hate those bobcats up north as they were constantly trying to get at my cat around dusk. Fortunately we had a pit mix who was smart enough to chase them and at only 55 pounds she made the ground thunder as she ran and was smart enough not to catch them.

You can get in more trouble using poisons than trapping and shooting. In Texas if any predator, including domestic dogs and cats, is harassing or killing your stock on your property or on property you legally control as in a lease, you can shoot them without regard to city limits. However the bullet must stay within and on your property in case of a miss. Best to also have photographic evidence also to be safe which I think I have.

Bobcat, coyote and puma are considered varmits in Texas. They can be taken at any time with any legal method. To use poisoned laced bait a permit is illegal or a permit is required, iircc.
