my vet removed the cyst from my peacock eye on Feb 26/13 and the eye is still swollen is this nornal after a week?
Yes it is normal.. the stuff they inject into the area to keep it numb causes swelling, it should go down after a couple weeks if not contact your vet and let him know

In my experience after the first surgery I did the eye stayed swollen and I apparently had not removed it all. I went back in and it was still full of the mass. I then went back in, removed all i could find, flushed it with the Tylon 50 (well!) then let it heal. Within hours the swelling was gone and the next day you could not even tell she had a problem. It sounds to me like she/he needs another look. Sorry Please let me know if I can help.

Sometimes the pus goes way into the sinus cavity. Check the cleft in the roof of it's mouth for pus.

Normal

Pus

Lot of places for pus to hide

The best thing to do is contact the vet that did the surgery. The vet can tell you if he/she gave it what Zazouse stated. Like Jesus Chick and Casportpony said the vet might not have got all the infection but the only one who can help you with this at this point is the vet. Do not touch the bird at all cause the vet may blame you saying it came back cause you touched the bird and then charge you again for the removal again.

After the tylan 50 I did not give her any meds. She was much better. Asking your vet is a good idea. I did not have that option. Also, prayer. It may sound silly to some, but I pray over all of my animals. I hope your bird is better.
