My Pet Chicken

I just emailed them two days ago with a preorder of 8 chicks. I can't say how their sexing is because obviously I didn't receive them yet, but so far their custom service is excellent. I forget to mention that I wanted them vaccinated, but about a half hour after I sent in the email, they emailed me back asking me if I wanted them vaccinated. I replied to them right away and received another email the next day saying my order has been recorded. So far pretty good :)

I ordered 5 chicks, they sent me 6, but one died (my fault

All turned out to be hens including 2 banties.

Depends on what you are ordering, if you want them sexed and the qty you are getting.

If you are ordering straight run and at least 15 I think then not to bad.

Smaller orders get dinged with a small order fee.

If you are getting sexed banties ad at least $7 a bird.

Shipping is also pricey.

I'm ordering 21 strt run banties and 4 standard breed pullets. I'm ok with a cost under $100 for all them with shipping. If they come back with a higher cost then I'll cancel and look elsewhere.

I'm going with all pullets, 7 standard and 1 banty.

I'm a little nervous that this is going to be a problem, as if the price is too high I may not be able to order. Ideal would be okay with the chicks for warth if I'm able to ge rid of them early (I get sensitive,) but they don't sex crested fowl and those are my primary chicks. Meyers simply doesn't sex bantams and I really want that one silkie, a HEN. McMurray doesn't do small orders. That just about leaves me with only this choice.

We ordered 8 chicks from them last year. 2 were silkies, all were supposed to be hens but one silkie was a rooster. We lost one chicken at about 8 weeks from cause unknown. And our female silkie ended up with that twisted neck thing-we culled it.

MPC they aren't show quality chickens by any means but all of my girls are great layers and all are friendly.

They arrived overnight, all healthy and consequently-in a Meyers box. MPC does not do packing peanuts and will ship as few as 3 chickens with a heating pad.

I'm ordering again from them this year. 6 chickens just isn't enough.

Yes, but the big problem with that is, if they mess up like they did my order and only refund the cost of the chickens, you are still gonna be out another $80 or so to replace them. You sure can't get 6 chickens shipped to you for $10 (my refund amount). It appears you don't have the option of getting new chicks shipped free of charge like all the hatcheries do when there is a problem. I would much rather pay less and get a few packing peanuts I have to get rid of, from Ideal.

I ordered 26 all hens last Aug, and only got 1 roo silkie and he's a cutie pie anyway I think that's pretty good odds.

Wow lots of mixed reviews with My Pet Chicken... It's a little nerve-racking but I think I'm still going to order from them because I can't find a single hatchery that will sex Bantam Silkies... Also I can't find a hatchery that offers Easter Eggers. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all pullets.
