My pic of eggs & mini rant...

I can only sell my brown eggs. No one wants my bantam eggs or my white eggs. So we eat all those (the kids love the bantie eggs) and sell the brown ones. Once my EE starts to lay we'll probably have to eat those ones too...

maybe I can bleach them LMBO!!! (or install bleach bottles in their rears...) (that was from another post of someone elses..)...

Since they put the color on the eggs last, maybe you could scare them when they are getting ready to lay so they forget to put the color coat on the eggs? Might keep the kids busy having them in the coop yelling boo to the chickens when they are laying at least.

Nice collection of eggs. Love all the different colors.
Hope we end up having at least 1/2 the colors you do

thanks!

It is really neat to see what brown colors there are...
I have NO clue what chicken lays what colors EXCEPT my Easter Eggers...ONE of them are laying the light light teal eggs..not even sure which one of the three lol...
but I have Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, Red Sexlinks, Turkens, Barred rocks that are laying right now...only about 10 of them...
I have about 17 hens that should start anytime..but they'll all be brown variations too..
I have 2 brahmas that WILL lay white eggs; but they arent anywhere close to laying; maybe another 3 wks??

Wow! I really wish we lived near each other, I would buy the whole basket full from you in a heart beat!!!!! No one around where we live has chickens or any eggs to sell ( and we live out in the country) believe me, I'd buy all you could sell! Although my family doesn't care what color they are, or whether they are store bought or farm fresh, I'm VERY picky and will only eat home grown colored eggs and the darker the yolk the better! I guess the white eggs reminds me too much of store bought eggs that have NO flavor. So for now I pass up breakfast with the family til my chicks get old enough to lay.

Our local food bank takes them. They did request that I collect and refridgerate daily and that I wash them before delivering as some of their clients wouldn't know to do that. They also asked that I put all of the green ones together so they don't have to explain them to as many people.

As it turns out, they have several clients who specifically take the green ones because they know they are from a backyard flock. They even gave me the egg cartons. I came in one time and a little Asian grandma was there collecting her food. She saw me and told the man "I wait, wait for real eggs" pointing at my load. I've just restarted and got my first 2 egglets today. I already have 3 people on my waiting list once they size up some.

Wow, I'm shocked. It's quite opposite here - no one wants white eggs (and you won't find them in the shops). What is it about the colour? Do people think they taste different?

I like the brown ones better, the white ones are hard to keep clean from dirty little chicken feet

. My current flock should have all brown (except for Love - an EE)
