My pic of eggs & mini rant...

Wow, so many people are so conditioned by the Corporate Food Supply that they don't even recognize real food.

So, electric blue yogurt squeezed from a tube is considered safe, healthy and trusted.

Beautiful blue, green and brown eggs naturally produced by healthy happy chickens are highly suspect and to be avoided.

Sad.

I did an experiment this past Easter I dyed both brown and white eggs. I got better color on the brown ones. Go figure.

I know someone that won't eat brown eggs. I offered free eggs as it was a relative and got told no, no brown i said well what about blue/green ones I was told under no certain terms were they allowed in the house... ugh. I really wanted to take them some eggs at Easter

Maybe I will try that at some point just dye them and then give them to them

A couple came to pick up one of our roosters and the young woman stated that not only does she not eat brown eggs, she won't eat the eggs her boyfriends hens lay!

She'll only eat eggs purchased from the grocery store (I did ask her if she realized how old these store bought eggs might be).

A nurse friend of mine told me that when she became overun with eggs, she donated them to our local soup kitchen.

Some people have no clue.

I have two neighbors that are against changing the covenants in our HOA to allow chickens. One is a nurse and she stated that chickens carry diseases so we shouldn't allow chickens, but she wants to get horses.

I usually buy the brown eggs at the store. My DH says they taste better.
I will buy the white eggs if I am going to do alot of baking, just because I'm cheap and the brown eggs cost more.

So one day I buy white and brown eggs on the same day, the same brand also. I need two eggs for the cake, so I'll do a little experiment. I break a white egg and a brown egg into the bowl. No wonder the brown taste better, the whites of the white egg are runny, without any texture or that nice ring of whites that stands up around the yolk. Also, the yolk of the white egg is pale yellow and really spread out and flattened in the bowl. The yolk from the brown egg actually has some color to it and was more rounded and perky(? is that the word I am looking for? It had more of a rounded top.)

For some reason, the brown eggs are alot fresher than the white eggs in the store. They are also harder to find, only two stores have them and one of those is usually sold out.

I don't care what color the shell is, the eggs taste good to me ! My pullets lay white, brown, and blue eggs, and they all taste the same. I can't wait for my guineas to start laying. I wonder if their eggs will taste different .... Scramble some of the extra eggs and give them to your girls as an extra treat !

Do you have a local farmers market you could take them too? Also there are tons of people around me that sell on Craigs list. I find that crazy no one wants them. I hope I dont have that problem when I have a pile like that! My little basket only holds about a dozen~!

You should just tell these silly people: THEY ARE ALL THE SAME ON THE INSIDE. JUST LIKE PEOPLE!! And then stare at them sternly for about 6 seconds to let it sink in.
