My picky ladies.

I have been feeding my ladies just layer feed up til now. I started with oyster shells for a treat. They love that and chase it down as I throw it. This week I mixed in some cracked corn. Well now I'm noticing the layer feed pellets all under the feeder. They didn't do this before. I also sprinkled in some DE for worms. I'll have to test now if it's the corn they want. I'm holding back the feed and letting it run low tomorrow. I don't want to spoil them on something that doesn't have as much nutrition like the corn over the pellets.

I have seen this with dogs. Once they get the good stuff they turn their noses up at the other stuff. Does this happen with chickens?

Really? My chickens love their regular feed.

You should give them more than just layer feed and cracked corn. They love veggies and scraps. Veggies should be included in their diet.

don't feel bad. I switched mine to pellets and they will not touch it. Picky brats. And not just a few, but ALL!
