That is by far the cleanest and well done whizbang tub plucker I have seen. I like how it has the bare minimum parts. I've seen another one similar (welded together with angle iron AND on wheels), but they actually had it where the feathers would shoot out to a bucket.

Thanks! Wheels are being added, and we put a piece of steel slanting downward over the pulley (underneath the tub), kinda like a slide. The feathers washed down it perfectly and it protects the pulley somewhat.

I'm VERY happy with it! It was made by a guy who knows nothing about chickens and plucking, but is a great fabricator.

great looking machine! Looks as if it will be copied a few hundred times.. (at least once anyway by yours truly)... I think a short video of a chicken going thru the fingers would be great!!!! HINT HINT.... Again, a real nice fabrication job.... Do you have a water inlet? Or do you use a hand held hose??

I did post a video here of the first time I used it...you can tell I forget the water till later in the video. I just use handheld, and hang it on the rim in between. Here it is again, so you don't have to hunt it down:

My husband just watched the video and wants to talk to the guy who built it to get the specs so we can have one, too. LOL!

A) What size motor?

B) What is the drum made of?

I think he has more questions. That's a pretty nifty little device you got there.
