All I have to say is make ABSOLUTLY sure that what he is telling you is what is actually happening. I say this because of something that happened at my high school last month.
A new kid came to the school. From the time he got there another boy began calling him some very bad names, spreading rumors about him, talking trash, etc. People were made away of it but nothing was done. After two weeks of constant verbal abuse and bullying the boy snapped. He was a youth UFC fighter and beat the living daylights out of the bully. He beat him so badly. The bully ended up with a broken collar bone, several missing teeth, and he literally had his braces beat off of him.
The bully's mother was in an uproar and began legal action against the school and facutly. She plastered pics of him after the fight all over the news and spread a story that a teacher told her son not to fight back and actually held him while the other boy hit him. The bully was saying that he didn't do anything and that it wasn't his fault. No one bothered to talk to the guy who got bullied for a few weeks. The guy who got bullied went to juvie and then was being charged with a felony level of assualt and battery. When the cops finally talked to him, they found out the truth and in the end he was only charged with misdemeanor assult.
The point of the story is, becuase the bully told a sob story everyone assumed he was the victim and the person who was ACTUALLY the victim became the bully. Not to say that's what's happening with your son, but before you make a scene and start going off, make SURE you know what all took place. I'm sure the bully's mom feels like a fool now, and you wouldn't want to do the same.
What you should do is what Dr. Phil did a story on this week. Stick a tape recorder in his pocket when he leaves. That way you can get the bullys on tape and have proof of what is going on. Have your son talk to a teacher too and get their reaction on tape. You can get pocket sized recorders cheap now-a-days, so I say this is the best bet.
