Do your dogs do well with your hens? I am thinking of getting a couple of doggies in the spring, but want to find a breed that does well with chickens. Any ideas? A friend tells that labs generally ...being bird dogs...will often kill chickens if given the chance.

well they do fine with the hens but... my male decided to kill 3 big turkeys a few weeks ago I dont know what happened maybe they tryed ganging up on him but bit them all on the neck killed one and left 2 bleeding all over so I had to cull them. so if a pug isnt safe I guess no dog is a sure thing for the hens
